The biggest change in my veiw on wine is that prior to taking this class I felt that white wines were too simple and had no complexity. I thought they were all just oak or acid so I shied away from tasting them. By tasting such a variety in class, I have discovered that there are some white wines that are not too bad and there are a few I like. I still find that I prefer red wines and I especially like the Shiraz wines from Australia. The least appealing wine is White Zinfandel because to me it is too much like soda pop, too light. I was also interested in learning the whys. Why certain grapes grow better in various areas, Why there is such a difference in the Old World Wines and the New World Wines and the overall history of the subject.
