I had always liked to drink wine and had sampled quite a few different varieties. I knew much less about regions and varietals I just knew if I liked or didn’t like it. It was always a shot in the dark. Now I feel like I have a better chance at picking a wine based on these things that I will probably like. I didn’t think I liked Riesling very much but after tasting the Hugel et Fils from France, I am a fan! I prefer a light white wine so Chardonnay isn’t the first white I would pick. It feels like there is too much going on with the buttery and oaky flavors.
