Before this class I knew basically nothing about wine. This knowledge is really important to me since I want to be a successful chef. I learned a lot in this class! I still have a lot to learn but I am moving in the right direction. I feel I am starting to understand how to pair wines to food which is something I always wanted to learn. Out of all the different wines we tasted in class I really liked the wines of France. Especially the white wines of the Alsace region. They had great flavor and were pretty easy to pair with many foods. The least appealing to me were the Red Wines of Burgandy. I feel this because I am a very inexperienced in drinking wine. Also this type of wine is best with certain foods. The dryness of these wines go well with fatty foods. So consuming them by themselves is different than it would be with dinner.
