A new law has been passed thanks to an 11 yr old boy Jack Davis that had a thought and made that wish conceived when he got legislatures to pass a law in Florida, Tallahassee that all restaurants donate the food they would normally throw away to the homeless. Jack came up with the concept last summer when he and his family loaded up on biscuits, bacon and eggs at a breakfast buffet in Chattanooga, Tenn. The manager prompted Jack’s family to fill up on more food because the remainder of the uneaten food was bound for the garbage. As confused as an 11 year old can be the manager continued to discuss and explain to Jack that the food couldn’t be donated because they could be sued for food poisoning or sickness. As we all can imagine the 11 yr old was still upset that the food was all being thrown away and asked his father a personal injury attorney if they could do anything on the issue. His father and he then pursed to more people with the proposal until it hit the legislatures that were smart enough to pass the bill. As of now no restaurant in the state of Florida is to throw away any food but rather donate it which I think it’s smart and honorable to help. I would honestly love to see that bill passed here. To me it seems like we never paid enough attention to teens when it comes to humanitarian things. The way I see this is that contamination doesn’t only apply in food but the way we learn about our so called economy and our everyday money making decisions and though these things are slightly important we forgot what it was like to think without any “buts” or “ifs” or “whys” and Jack being In that age range saw beyond the money and what we think society really means and brought a little human back into us.This is the first step to what may just be the answer we have all been seaching for “How to end Hunger in the USA” I can say I’m very proud of Jack and his family, both for listening and achieving it.
